From Buckles

Miss Dolly and my father rehearsing "Modoc", "Empress" and "Judy" at Jacobs place in 1944, that's Don Kidder in the background.
I recall they framed a show using a canopy that went out for a few days, blanked out and quickly returned.
Also Eva May Lewis stopping by with a son? that I ran around with for a brief time but for the most part unhappy days, always being yelled at, "It's the last time I'm telling you to stay out of that cat barn!"

When Eva May Kelly left Emmett, as he wrote, over money-pinching on his part, they had two sons, Emmett Leo Kelly, Jr., and Patrick. She married clown-cop Joe Lewis. Dave Price and I visited their graves in Peru, in the cemetery where many great names also rest. Among these is legendary circus manager Jess Adkins, whose grave is easily found, between two towering cedar trees. Another name who hit the big-time, who lays in repose here, is the indelible songwriter, Cole Porter.

Terrell Jacobs is buried in Wabash, Indiana.

I have this set of shots in very small format, evidently from an old Kodak Brownie camera, except for this last one. What I would have given to have been there.
