Most debonair and stylish act I ever saw. Unus was dressed in purple and performed to the tune of the song "Deep Purple." He first appeared with RBBB in 1948.
Likewise my mother and I saw the show in 1948 in Minneapolis, Cap. Curtis got us center ring seats. First time I ever saw an elephant do a one-foot stand.
I remember Unus on RBB into the 1960s, still at the top of his form, and still a top star over there. When the band went into "Deep Purple", all Unus had to do to enthrall his audience was begin to step into the ring.
My first Circus was RBBB in'48. This gentlemen is one of many performers that was immediately burned into my memory. They don't make them like him any more.
In 1969 I was a clown on the red show I was 18 and looked 13 , I didn't have a clue about life. He traveled with his daughter. He was a classy act, every day he would nod and say morning with a big smile on his face
Unus was a class act all the way around. I remember the Moroskis and him eating at our house. Later Unus and his wife rescued a little rabbit on the lot in Wilkes Barre that I attempted to nurse back to good health. I named the rabbit Little Unus.
Very ironic that Moonlight Serenade just came on the TV as I am typing this. Another piece some of you may recall.

Last saw this act over 50 years ago and I still remember him. What class!
