Is that the midget Cuccinello (sp?) who was part of the riding act? He died many years ago.

RJR, I believe it is, as well as in the next picture at school with Flo White. "Cucci" was a remarkable, talented, hard working man. My first year on Clyde Bros. working for Lou Regan he taveled city to city in his Winnebabo with us with Lou driving the elephants, Tucker, Lou's huge muscled African American tiger groom, from Shrevesport, La driving the tiger's. A motley crew fueling up at truck stops to say the least. He and Tucker were best friends and both smoked huge cigars. He later presented the elephant Judy, Jenny, and Vickie for Carden and Johnson. RJR, are you going to make it to Cincinnati Zoo to bid a fond farewell to Harapan? Folks need to hurry because on the 29th it will be the last chance most will have to ever see a Sumatran rhino except in pictures. After the 29th he is on his way to the island of Sumatra and a breeding facility in the Way Kambas National Park.

I hope you are well
Regards,

Yes, it is. He was Francesco Pasquale Rizzi, who performed as "Cucciolo". He came over from Italy as an accomplished equestrian with Alberto Zoppe, and their starring act was featured in the DeMille film. I was grateful to have known him on Howard Suesz's Clyde Bros. Circus, in 1975. He was working his trampoline act and doubling as show electrician. Cucciolo died in Sarasota, on February 2, 1984. I am uncertain of his age.
