Back when kids had REAL role models. Thanks OW
William Boyd struck while the iron was hot. Commodore Productions collapsed under bitter power grabs between its husband and wife team, Mr. & Mrs. Walter White, Jr. This demise ended continuing production of the Clyde Beatty TV series, and Beatty was not to be as lucky as Boyd. He bought world rights to the Hopalong Cassidy character, until then wholly controlled by the Whites. Hoppy was still immensely popular, and Boyd's wealth was soon compared to that of Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.
