In 1951 D.R. Miller decided to bank-roll my father to frame the Miller-Woodcock elephant act and immediately ordered three young elephants.
Upon arrival my father went up to Trefflich's place in Brooklyn and discovered one of the elephants had a crippled hind leg but took the other two which he named "Fannie" and "Lydia" (seen above) and named after Obert Millers' wife.
Now with a contract for the Siebrand Bros. Shows and an elephant short he managed to talk a reluctant D.R. Miller into borrowing "Anna May" for a season and "forgot" to bring her back.
