In 1943, Aunt Edith conspired to oust John Ringling North as head of the Ringling Circus and replace him with her son Robert. All through Robert’s tenure, Karl Wallenda served as his trusted advisor on matters pertaining to the running of the show. (This would later have serious consequences for the Wallendas.)
