Long-time showbums have many stories about Department Dogs. Most departments--canvas, props, elephants, cats, seats, you name them--were highly territorial. Once the work was done that saw them around the lot, each department had their own top, sometimes even a wagon, complete with crumb boxes, and the venerated department dogs, who also were seriously protective of their turf. These two guys look like they could guard their perimeters with no questions asked and no prisoners taken.
