From Eric Beheim

Regarding the recent discussion on the Majestic Theater in New York, here is an old photo of it circa 1903. If you look closely, you can see one of the signs for The Wizard of Oz being painted over with a sign advertising Babes in Toyland

Thanks Eric & Dick

I guess the Shubert archives

don't show this house because

it was never 1 of theirs

I'll be up to NY next week &

I'll go into Shubert's office

& grill a few folks high up on

their food chain (with pleasure)

Wonder how many other things are

hidden history

Actually, I believe the Schuberts briefly operated this Majestic (and GREAT photo, Eric, to win the debate!). And Chic, while I don't wish to deny you pleasure at chomping away on the higher end of the Shubert foodchain, check with the separate Shubert Archives, a remarkable place set up by my late friend Brooks MacNamara.
