"Today's entries make Three Thousand.....One Hundred.....and Eight pictures Mr. Beheim had contributed to the Blog over the years!
I will check with my highly incompetent staff to see if he is entitled to a stipend."

Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom devotes the whole show to the St Louis Zoo Chimpanzee Show.

Not to be missed.

I keep wondering why the Bronx Zoo never had anything like this.
Richard Reynolds please comment.

This may seem like a lot of images, but it is only a SMALL FRACTION of the TOTAL number of images that Buckles has had to come up with to keep the blog running day after day, week after week, year after year. If submitting a few photos every so often helps him out, I’m glad to do it. (My “reward” has been the many comments that people have submitted that identified who and what the images show.)

The St. Louis Zoo chimp show is showcased in the 1950s Castle Films short CIRCUS AT THE ZOO. Look for it at YouTube or where ever.

Paul, the Bronx had an experienced show announcer on its staff, Bill Conway. I've heard he was a temporary replacement on occasion but probably never put that on his resume.

Mike, that youtube has many of the "powerhouse tricks" the chimps performed. It also has Mr. Moke, a chimp that said and wrote MAMA.
