About a year and a half after the park opened in 1974 it was shut down for six months from Oct. 26, 1975 to Apr. 2, 1976 while the theater was being built as seen in the background.
On this day Rex Williams dropped off his elephants, "Reed", "Gardner", "Gyp" and "McLain" to baby-sit while he delivered the rhino he had sold to a show down in Mexico.

I just realized my 4 elephants that I started with at" World of Animals" are in this photo.. George, Hugo, Gardner and the 1st African Bonnie....In the picture the order is ..Buckles, George, Hugo, Reed, Rex, Gardner, Vance, Major, Gary J. Charlie and 1st African, Bonnie...:)
