Is this Jimmy Cole's son (Sonny?) and whatever became of him? And when did Jimmy Cole last tour this act and what finally became of the elephants? Dick Flint Baltimore
Actually this is James M. Cole Sr. but after the show closed in 1950, Jimmy Cole Jr. worked the act on independent dates up until they were sold to Howard Suesz (Hagen Bros.) in 1958. Their names were "Frieda", "Elizabeth" and "Dorothy".
BUCKLES: Bert Pettus had our Frieda on Castle. Bert's guys could get around her only if Bert was there. Otherwise, he advised us, Frieda would kill you in a second. Is this the same Frieda?
CORRECTION: I mis-named the Castle killer elephant as Frieda, when I was thinking of Zetta. Frieda was reputed to be a killer elephant on Beatty-Cole, and Fred Logan warned people about her. It was thought to be she who killed the townie woman who was drunk and came around the elephants in the dead of night.

James M. Cole's wife was Dorothy. His later wife was named Heidi.
If memory serves me correctly.
