From Chris Berry #1

Sells Floto Half Sheet (1932)

The Morgan Litho Company of Cleveland, Ohio was known in the 1920s and 30s for its movie posters, rather than circus lithos, however in the early 1930s the firm executed several designs for Ringling Barnum and its Sells-Floto property. This Sells-Floto half-sheet from 1932 was evidently good enough for the artists at Central Show Print of Mason City Iowa to "borrow" when executing a poster for Seils Sterling five years later in 1937.

Chris,
When you see the work of Russell-Morgan and Central it is lie daylight and dark.
Doing some cleaning at the house I have a John Robinson 10 big shows one sheet with the three Robinsons heads on it and it is just beautiful poster.
Real quality work and might be stone printing.
Great days of circus posters a lost art now.

You should check out Greasepaint - a new documentary about a traveling circus. It has interviews with several living legends and goes into the Hall of Fame inductees, Ringling Bros., Jackie LeClaire, Jim Howle and more!
