2014 Kelly-Miller #19 (From Vincent Manero)

Ryan Easley worked his seven Tiger display. It is great to see this act getting bigger and nicer year after year.

Could this be Jean's (Tarzan) old

arena as it is of the same design

Isn't Ryan also known as "Radar"

Thanks Vincent for all these

Myself and Culpepper mechanic Scott Moss built this arena two years ago. It's the same design as Wayne Franzen's arena but each panel is a foot wider. The biggest mistake was not having it galvanized. One day stands every day don't allow for it to be painted very often. I learned my lesson and had galvanized my new transport enclosures I built last winter.

Maybe have it powder coated?

As you may know Radar it is near

impossible to keep a galvanized

surface painted so that probably

would not have been a good choice

"Ospho" is a green liquid that

locks surface rust & it prevents

further oxidation & is readily

available at big paint & hardware

It's best to prepare by removing

as much rust as easily possible

I use 2 coats of the thin clear

liquid allowing each coat to dry

Paint will stick well after that

Flat black Rustoleum is my choice

Cable can be blackened by 1st

degreasing with a strong solvent

I like MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone)

Then a few applications of a good

quality gun blue

Powder coating requires a really

clean surface PJ & he would have

to fully dissasemble each frame

Yes it would be best to powder coat only new material. There are lots of companies that have large enough ovens to run a cage section in. Black has always been a good cage color as your eye looks past it. A grey or silver cage isn't as sharp for some reason. Maybe the lighting, I don't know. But powder coating is great and you don't knock the coating off. Almost all equipment is powder coated. They don't do cars and trucks as when they are in a wreck, you have to either sand blast or use a stripper to remove it before you can repair a fender or door, etc.

I once asked Terrell Jacobs what he thought of cable arenas and he said, "I want something I can climb out of!"
