The division’s personnel are shown being transported in
Pullman sleepers, with the flatcars containing their vehicles and equipment
coupled on behind. From looking at the
film footage, it appears that a train consisting of two or more sections was
required to transport a full armored division and its equipment.

As shown in the film, during long hauls, troop trains would periodically do a variation of the circus’ feed & water stop, with Army personnel being off-loaded and set to performing track side calisthenics, close order drills, etc.
