I think Pete came to the show

about the time they sent Sid to

1 of the smaller Acme shows

If I am not wrong. Petunia was Pete's "maiden" name. And she came from Clyde Beatty. Correct me if I am wrong.

By the way. That is Josip Marcan in the background.

Rex liked her and he fcalled her Pete. I believe she had been called PeeWee even on Beatty. Buckles would know. johnny

I can still hear Little Bobby Cline yelling out in a bit of a raspy voice, "Petunia! Get up here!"

Pee Wee came to the Beatty RR show as a very young elephant from Henry Trafflich in 1952 and was there when McClosky and Kernan took the show over in 1956.

She was still called Pee Wee as late as 1960 but sometime in the next ten years became "Pete." I don't know exactly when the Petunia moniker came in; maybe between these two?

Rex always liked one syllable names and upon his arrival in 1962 "Pee Wee", "Suzy Q", "Burma" and "Gypsy" immediately became "Pete", "Sue", "Bee" and "Gyp".

Little Bobby Cline did a very

good job in handling a few of

the bulls with work & chores

He likely had his own terms of

endearment for some of them

I don't believe Rex or Freddy

or Robert Cline used Petunia

I guess the 4 punks came after

Rex had left & Freddy took over

(Topsy Frieda Jewel & Jackie)
