More Henderson/Ray #1 From Billie schuller

Anna Henderson and Buster Ray.
I forgot to include this. McLeod County, Minnesota Fair 1929.

"Buster was Rubens Ray's son from a previous marriage and from all accounts a great entertainer,
accomplished in singing, dancing and acrobatics.
Barbara says she remembers him dancing while playing an accordion.....stop.....do a complete back somersalt and resume playing with hardly missing a note."

I recall that the Hendersons had routes in Minn. Evan being in the "rep" showbiz as was my Uncle George Engesser with his variety of very successful Rep Shows. Note the young Ray boy as well. Boy its a small world. My son-in-law is part of the great Plunkett family of very multitalented rep show folks along with his maternal mothers "Bronk's Comedians" [band leader was young Merle Evans.and on and on. Thanks Billie.

Picture from 1925, fair in 1929. Yes, John, the tent show families knew each other in those days. Many of them went on into circus and other venues. On the rep show Dad leased plays, hired Actors Equity actors and the family mostly did variety and circus specialties. Which is why our family (and other families) could move on when rep died.
Lots of information about them at the Theatre Museum in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Grace is Vice President there, I'm a board member.
One more thing - I'm one of the few people who can literally say, "I was replaced by a chimpanzee!"
