Although he was quite good in the role of Dr. Barlow, Alfred Delcambre never appeared in another film after this one. (My wife is of the opinion that the rigors of making this picture cured him of the desire to do any more movie work!)
Following its theatrical release, TUNDRA was made available for non-theatrical rentals through the Bell & Howell “Filmosound” 16mm film library. In 1949, RKO somehow acquired ownership of it and, after adding a few new scenes showing a “Mrs. Barlow” (who is never referred to at all in the original film), re-released it under the title ARCTIC FURY. In the late 1950s, ARCTIC FURY was one of the RKO films sold to television, which might explain why this film may seem vaguely familiar to some of you.
