From Buckles

My father wrote on the back of this picture, "Mrs. C. P. Fox, "Chappie" Fox, Bill Woodcock, Babe Woodcock and Fox children. Oconomowoc, Wis.- June 1955."

" I remember this event well, we camped at their estate while making a jump during out Fair route that summer. Had the elephants picketed in an area behind the house.
Chappie alerted the local Press and a photographer caught this shot of everyone enjoying photo albums, I must have been out and about, circus scrap books weren't as interesting to me as they are today."

It would be hard to find a finer grouping of families.

Didn't you rename one of Hugo's 7-act "Sophie" after Chap's wife?

Years later she was still around but one of the guys told me she did not make the long mount.

Yes I did, nice gentle elephant.
When I took over that herd, Hugo had given the new punks Asian names some were hard to say and difficult for the new hands to remember so I made a few changes.
She did a long mount as long as I was around there.
Oddly enough I just finished tomorrows Blog and it includes pictures of her in the acts I put together for the show in 1978-79.
