A sadly overlooked legend (fortunately she’s in the Ring of Fame) whose bio isn’t even listed in the CHS’ online circus bios: Sorting thru some of my photos (too numerous!) I came across this one of Galla Shawn, aka Mary "Tiny" Gallagher, who grew up in HUGO but became a celebrated international trapeze star, on Ringling in the 60s (I think Pat Valdo booked her) and, before and after, all over the world. I remember working with her on PAUL KAYE dates in the early 1970s, and it was an honor to finally meet her. One circus old timer told me she couldn’t read or write (??), but she sure was one of the performing greats—and looked the part! I believe she was married to concessions legend Buzzy Cuttin and on RBBB was with husband (?), wire walker Antonio Santos.
