Regarding additional
pix made for the Natl. Geo. article, several years ago Buckles came up
with this variation of the Sylvan-Drew daub picture. It has all the earmarks of
having been taken at the same time.

Ever since I first saw the picture in National Geographic when I was in high school, I have wondered about this posting job.
At first I thought maybe someone had just taped or thumb-tacked the sections of the posters up to take the photograph.
Now I think it's just a very poor job of "doping" the surface and rubbing the paper in.
But you're right, Chic, this would never have been acceptable on any advance I worked on.
A word from the wise, not to mention photos, is always greatly appreciated!
