Arena Update #1 (From Don Covington)



Demolition continues on the former Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey winterquarters in Venice, Florida.

As work progressed, structural engineers determined that the majority of the structure was unsound and recommended that it be completely removed.

Structural steel came from the racetrack grandstand in Sarasota that was turned into the sailloft building in 1927 when John Ringling moved the winterquarters from Bridgeport, Conn. to Sarasota.
Don't know when the grandstand was built (pre 1927) or history.
