I don't know the two ladies on the front of the elephant.....But the one in back is my mentor...."JEAN ALLEN" What a woman...... She could work elephants like a man and at times better than a man.....For on the Dailey Bros. some times LUCY the elephant would get angry and back up to the back of the ring..... they would send for Jean Allen( she worked on concessions then.) And she was able to get LUCY to go on with the act......"LUCY" KILLED Gabe Tucker I think on Russell Bros. Circus.... I later worked LUCY on the lot at night in a harness team.....I was married to Rex then. He was in charge of the bulls.....and they were short handed.... so Rex made me work....And I didn't get the two dollars a night the bull hands got. I started on the stake pulling bull first.... Then I graduated to a team..... The first team I worked was "CUTIE" & "TILLY'.... Then it was "MYRTLE" & "LUCY"...... I would always ask Rex to keep an eye on me....He would always say he did....but.... he didn't.... I was fifteen at the time.......Barbara.....
