BONES CRAIG! That is a real Elephant Man. Remember meeting him on Vargas show in Bufflalo, NY.,WE were across the border at Marineland and Game Farm for summer with Cuneo/Hawthorn plus Jimmy HALL bears. He was first assistant to Wally Ross, Vargas Elephant Supt. (1975) Years later in 1987, I was Operations Manager of the LITTLE MOUNTAIN Zoological Park in Wellford, SC.Also we were bringing wild caught African Elephants up from the Arthur Jones Jumbolair compound in Florida to train and send on to zoos and circuses. Bones and his lovely wife came up to pick one up, and he stayed several days behind my house on the zoo grounds while he chose the right one, and while my maintainence men tried to help fix a hole in his semi's roof. The two asians he had were beautiful specimens, the female "Virginia" was great , worked harness etc., and the male "Sabu" was huge. Bones suggested we get a photo with the other elephants, he said "Mike, you stand by Sabu, and I'll take the photo." I replied "No Way, Bones YOU stand by that whooley mammoth and I'll take Your photo"(ha,ha). Great memories! MIKE CECERE
