Two names are not given on this photo: after Mother Hanneford, stands Elizabeth Rebecca Hanneford (Mrs. Ernest) Clarke. She had three nicknames--Lizzie, Becca, and Baba. Since we are addressing weddings today, on April 9, 1946, she literally left the church with newlyweds Parley and Ernestine Baer as part of the deal, and lived with them until her death in 1975. The gentleman at R is Ernest Clarke's brother and former catcher in their fabled flying trapeze two-act, Charles.
We were pleased to have dinner in the Baer home and met Elizabeth, Ernestines mother. She was a sister to Poodl4es and George sr and a very charming lady. They had a large Great Dane that would take your wrist in its mouth and lead you into the dining room when it was time. No arguments. Parley had in the front part of the house a small room-library that was nice as I recall. Not shown is anotgher brother, Percy that worked clown bits with Charly later on various shows. johnny. PS. A great circus family of high quality.
