Ashanti #1 (From Eric Beheim)

Another film that has a goodly number of camels is ASHANTI (1979) starring Michael Caine. Filmed on location in Africa, the plot has Caine searching for his wife, who has been kidnapped by an unscrupulous Middle Eastern slave trader (Peter Ustinov in a delightful but very politically incorrect characterization.) When the chase leads him into the desert, Caine enlists the aid of a bold and resourceful nomad (Kabir Bedi) to act as his guide. But first, Caine has to master the basics of camel riding.
