Irvin loved those punk wagons &

in many cities so did the ushers

Could that be Ted

It probably is Ted but at first glance I thought it was Tom Haffner who remains under Ringling employment at the Stud Farm til this day.

This is the first Circus that I ever saw. Once upon a time maybe in 1960 a Circus came to the town of my birth, Corry Pennsylvania; I saw the parade, watched the tent go up at the High School, and I even got to touch an elephant, but to see the show was much too extravagant for the our family.

Free was the official premise Bob

but in many cities those hats or

headbands ran pretty steep with

the ushers that gave them out

Kinda like today's dynamic pricing

the starfish but I can't recall

his name (nice guy with glasses)

Isn't that Hal by the chimes for

"If I Ruled The World" from the

Broadway musical "Pickwick"

The highlight of the first day of rehearsal was a bunch of girls being taught to play "Climb Every Mountain" on glockenspiels.
I was later informed that these were the pay-off elephant riders in spec.
I asked if any of them were new since only an experienced rider could play and hold on at the same time.
This brought a chorus of smart ass remarks from my crew about how that could be done.
Consequently the idea was dropped and the tune switched to "If I Ruled The World" which was perfect.

Never was dinged for the hats, Chic. Honest ushers in Omaha, I guess (or they hadn't figured it out yet!).
