A rare shot of RBBB co-owner and Houston money man Judge Roy Hofheinz "letting his hair down" with Frankie Saluto and flyer Mary Gill in 1969; supplied by Lee Solters' early PR firm, Solters &
Sabinson, which took over national press duties in 1967.

I wonder what the out come of Ringlings fate would have been if the Judge had not put up the 7 1/2 Million to buy it and who would own it today??????

Chic,
Judge must have been a hard sell. Irvin even swung a good looking broad his way.

The word I got was that everybody loved the Judge but Irvin was very concerned about his health and worried about the possibility of winding up with an estranged wife or an Ex daughter in law as a business partner.

Another buzz around the show was the incredible amount of alcohol John Ringling North could consume in a day but John Herriott later pointed out to me that he somehow managed to outlive them all, the Judge, Irvin and Israel.

John North packed in the drink and food--ate very richly all over the world; he was a real gourmand! saw it with my own eyes--Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo kept a private stash of his preferred drink, as did others I'm sure. Like his unlce John, he had an iron stomach and peculiar habits, like eating breakfast at 5PM, when he rose from a night's sleep. Outlived Irvin by a year but was 81while Irvin was just 66.
