One cast member who’s face should be familiar to most of you is David McCallum (right) who plays one of the ship’s radio operators and who later was one of the leads in the hit TV series MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

The message was received in New York City by Tom Sarnoff who later became head of NBC. His son Tom Jr produced the Disney On Parade, Peter Pan and Yabba Dabba Do arena shows.

McCallum is remembered also as "Ashley-Pitts, the Disperser", the POW in THE GREAT ESCAPE who devised the pants legs to scatter dirt removed from the tunnels. His character gave his life to save leaders of the escape--we remember him being shot down on the railroad tracks. As Dr. Ducky Mallard, on NCIS these 10 seasons, he looks great at 78.

Your right Chic. My mind does not retain like it used to. I saw in the paper that he was in a street front studio and would post telegraphs as they came in. It said the NYPD had to close the street because of the crowds.
