(Wasn’t the Great Norbu the gorilla parody that appeared in the DeMille film?) In 1963, I was in a front row seat by the center ring and got to see him up close when he came up into the seats to do embarrassing gags with the cash customers. I remember that he ran along the tops of the seat backs, going by right behind me. I also remember that he came down on some sort of elastic rope (like a bungee cord) and landed on the track right in front of me. When he landed, I could feel it through the auditorium's wooden floor. (Doing that on a regular basis must have been hard on his knees!)
Is this the same act that appeared in the opening parade of Billy Rose's JUMBO? ~frank
