This Post Cover is dated April 10, 1965 and hit the stands while the Ringling Show was in the Garden.
In order to get all the clowns in the picture I lopped off the top banner line.
An article by Bill Ballentine accompanies the lay out which is most interesting thing in the whole affair.

Also included are a few observations from your humble servant.

I don't think it's Marcos Droguet, I think it is Billy Ward.

Is that the same Bobby Johnson that worked concessions for a number of years?

Prince Paul Alpert is wearing the "Wizard" wardrobe from the Wizard of Oz spec; he was lifted from the floor in a hot air balloon waving good bye to all the residents of OZ.

The clowns are, top, "Prince Paul" Alpert, Billy Ward, former flyer, he worked as my partner in Russia and Europe, Billy was the younger brother of Eddie Ward. Next on top line Freddy Freeman. Bottom row, Mark Anthony, Mike "Coco" Polakov (I am not sure of that spelling) and Bobby Johnsen (this is the correct spelling). Jackie LeClaire.

Jackie - isn't Billy Ward the nephew of Earl Shipley?

Chic -
When I was a young'n, Bobby had the front door on the Bibles. Duane Thorpe followed in concessions a few years later. Old clowns never die...

Bobby did a cradle act with Roland Keiser's wife Manya one year against Concello's better judgemant by swearing that it wouldn't interfere with his job on concessions.
In those days the dates were sparsely booked during the summer months and often the acts were pro rated on half weeks.
On one occasion he went to Concello and pointed out that after receiving his tip, the rigger made more money then he did and could the show pick up the tip on half weeks.
Concello said he would think it over.
Another half week arrived and still no word from the office so at wits end Bobby went to Concello and announced, "You said you would pick up the tip and you didn't so I quit."
"Well Bobby I'm sorry to hear that, you do a good job here, hate to see you go. Should we put your trunk out in the alley or have you made other arrangements?"
"Well, I didn't actually mean quit!"
"Well make up your mind, it isn't every day someone fires himself."
Bobby said he meekishly went back to work but Concello made him wait two more weeks before the tip was taken care of.

I sincerely doubt that anyone ever

got the best of Ali Babba & the

best that they could do was become

1 of the 40 thieves (as many did)

McClosky & Kernan skunked him

at the sheriff's sale but that

got turned around in 66
