Opening on May 12 in North Hollywood, Buck Jones Wild West Shows and Round Up Days closed on July 21 in Danville, Illinois. Unbeknownst to Buck, his front-end manager D.T. Pilchard had been pocketing the money and not paying the bills. (Some sources say that Copeland was also in on some of the skullduggery.) |

After the show folded, Buck went to the hotel where Pilchard was staying and hung around the lobby with a loaded gun, waiting for him to show up. (Fortunately, he never did!)
