In 1941 Buck began appearing in the Rough Riders series along with Tim McCoy and Raymond Hatton. The three played semi-retired U.S. marshals, called on from time to time for special assignments. After America’s entry into World War II, McCoy left the series to return to active duty with the U.S. Army. |

Tim McCoy was featured with Ringling-Barnum during 1936-1937. In 1938, he too took out a wild west show which closed within a few weeks.
