It looks like the sidewall has been extended outward and in line with the tent ropes (straps) to the stake line. What a great idea! It must add a lot more square (round) footage to the interior of the big top. Also it probably gives the tent better wind resistance in a storm.

The top is guyed out by the side wall.
A while back upon returning to the US,TZ told me about the top he had just ordered and the tent extending to the ground in lieu of side wall.
I have seen a similar set up back in 1985 in Tokyo, Japan that was on a show we worked on produced by Paul Kaye & Senkosha corp.
I would guess that the stake line must be pre-set letter perfect in order to do this. Do they use the extra area behind the seats for stoagge of props?
