Paul Jung was a muti talented clown. He produced all the big production clown numbers, plus designed and made most of the heads for the show like the Seven Dwarfs, Mickey Mouse, and theme heads for the spec. He also did the same for Holiday On Ice etc. Sad that he should depart this world in such a tragic maner. Jackie LeClaire
When Johnny Herriot took the reins at Circus World he gave our Alley the great complement of giving us the camera gag. “Stop the Show! Stop the Show!” We all he thought he was nuts. We were use to fast action skits more or less choreographed with the best band on placed on earth. It is odd to me now that we didn’t recognize the gift of Circus that his legacy was giving to us. That spotlight in our amazing venue will be something that can never be recreated, it gave birth to some amazing moments, and I have witness clowns sprouting into brief greatness running up to the ringmaster’s spotlight, box camera over their solider screaming “Stop the Show,” as the music melts with the help of maybe the greatest jazz trombonist alive back then. All of the clowns that took this challenge did a wonderful job; regretfully I was not one of them. A few maybe soar to that apex of clowning that we all strive to achieve, the moment of Circus that they will tell their children about. Bud Copland found the best laugh in the act, it was a subtle little tribute that his clown did so well. “Watch the birdie” and Bud would do his walk on stage with Bruster the Roster perched on a stick above his head, that brought a warm laughter came to the crowd, and all the children in the ring were looking at Bruster before the Clown Photographer scattered them with the 45 blank in his bang stick. It is wonderful to be able to pay tribute to the Circus Clown that did this in the day, thank you. Lj

Wasn't Jung murdered in NYC while the show was at the Garden? Jackie will know.
