No one has mentioned Hugo Schmidt, at least to my writing. This is the 1949 spec. I understand that the baby African elephant later on in life became quite a rang. I know little about elephants, but I do not remember any African elephants in my younger day around the Ringling show. Maybe I wasn't paying close attention. The Aisian has always been my favorite to this day. I am getting used to the African as you see so many of them in circus now days. All the years with a circus, I never once rode an elephant. My Dad rode one in the spec for years, Little Ruth. Love, Jackie LeClaire
