From Chuck Schlarbaum

Regarding 1956 Beatty Show Band:

Buckles:
Vic Robbins opened the Season.
He retired when the show went down..
The chutes went under the right hand drop leaf of the old bandstand.
Ray Aguilar( good man ) took over when the show reopened
and moved the cally back behind.
Fred Mullins went to Anaheim Disney.
From the rear I don’t think that is Mullins.
There was a good player from Jacksonville FL. Les ??? I know he was there in 1959. Aguilar was still there.
I played Palisades Park with the show that year on my way to open Hunt Bros. May 1.
I was in the Army spring of 1955 through spring of 1958 Joined Cristiani spring of 1958
and only saw one other show that year Hunt Bros.
Kindest regards,
Chuck

Thanks for the info, Chuck.

Do you have any idea what happened to Ray Winder?

CHUCK SCHLARBAUM is a gifted conductor and composer, as you all know.

I have watched (and heard) him walk into a rehearsal and distribute the music to a 32 piece band and make them sound like a symphony orchestra!

Or take a 3 piece ensemble and make it sound like a great Circus band!

He is also a natural born Circus music composer.

I love his "VELOCITY GALLOP"!!
