1941 Cole Bros. Circus #52

Billboard Review from Joe Bradbury's 1976 Bandwagon Article.

Display #5
The Great Alonzo who is carried around the track by his head in the mouth of an elephant.

(I remember Lonzo, both he and Cheerful had cauliflowr ears from doing too many head carries, in this case partially inflicted by "Babe" from the 101 Ranch herd.)
Buckles

Display #16
Thee rings of ponderous elephants directed by Alonzo Dever. Ring 1- Helen Partello; Ring 2- Jean Allen; Ring 3 Wanda Wentz.
A very hih class act with "Blanche" a three ton dancer; well trained girls and a trainer who works hard to put this act over nicely.

I hesitatingly ask, what's my problem ? I can't see any head carry here or a performer that looks like he would be Alonzo.

Thanks, Paul G.
