I seem to recall reading that Pat O’Brien spoke the eulogy at Clyde Beatty’s funeral.
Was this just the film wardrobe or
did he change to all white later
Gloves Shirt Jodpers & Pith Helmet
with the black Belts & Boots
Chic: Maybe Roger will address this as he has some info on it. All I know is that Beatty wore this style outfit for a year or two and is seen in at least one other movie (Perils of the Jungle) wearing it.
Beatty's son-in-law Bud Ferguson once commented to me that he (Bud) liked this better than the whites but I always liked the signature whites.
At Beatty's death several writers referred to him as the man in white or the figure in white.
My 1st awareness of him & all the
details of his performance was in
61 as head frontlight operator in
Commack as a 1st of May
It was certainly eye catching
& obviously copied by at least
Pat Anthony & Dave Hoover
