Do you think the high sidewall was due to the filming? Was that normal for this sized tent? ~frank
Frank,
When Ringling introduced the seat wagons in 1948 the height of the sidewall was increased to 17'.
The seat wagons had a greater pitch to them than the old stringers and jacks. They needed the extra height.
You will also notice that the sidewall is the old faded one. They used it instead of the brand new white one while they were filming to cut down on the light coming into the tent.
