From Richard Flint #5

History Lessons
And finally, I was able to view the circus poster exhibit at the Cincinnati Art Museum last March when the Ringling show was in Cincinnati. I met up with the kids from the show’s traveling school while they toured the exhibit and when they saw this 1902 poster for the seven Gaynells, all the show kids immediately associated it to the Torres family’s act!

Didn't a John Robinson strong man, maybe Louis Cyr, hold such an apparatus aloft one season? The stunt was illustrated in newspaper ads. It was a sort of bicycle drome and perch act combined.
