Before he went into Clown Alley Duane Thorpe was a dancer on RBBB and was just ahead of this Fire Bird section as the lead dancer.
I think he studied dancing in NYC on the G.I. Bill.

Because of my theatre background, when we played The Garden in NYC, Duane would take me bar4 hopping with his old Broadway friends who were starring in FOLLIES, and NO NO NANETTE. They had been all young performers together trying to make it, not unlike today's fresh faces. He took a dancing gig with RBBB because it was work. When the show dropped the dancers, he moved over to Clown Alley. A part of him regretted not having stayed in NY to pursue a Broadway career.

Down the track is a stilt walker, I think his name is Harry Nelson, but I am not certain that he was one of the famous Nelson Family risley act.

Mike -

Was the the one with Ozzie, Harriet, David and Little Ricky? I heard David got into catching on the flying trapeze until he lost it working on the Whirling Circus. ~frank

Next time you see the movie, look for the girl in this section who steals a glance at the camera. That looks like her in the second row, Left.

Mike,
I think the stilt waker in spec was George Dalbeanie. He rode a stilt bicycle in the clown walk around,
although both he and Henry(Harry) Nelson are in the '51 route book.???
