Continuing with our 60th anniversary celebration of the filming of DeMille’s GSOE, here are some frame enlargements taken from the sequence showing the 1951 Spec CIRCUS SERENADE. (If you have more information as to who and what is being shown in these images, your sharing it with the rest of us will be greatly appreciated.) |

"Those were the days my friend; we thought they'd never end..."

I swear that's Antoinette Concello in the blue wardrobe at L. And Paul Jung climbing the ladder.
Roger, I believe you're right about Antoinette, but if this is the Old King Cole float, and I'm not sure that it is, wouldn't that be Felix Adler? ~frank
& Alvin Schwartz (Schwartzie)
Frank--You're more likely right than I am. Had to be Felix.
And yes, Schwartzie almost in his Pluto suit.
This is the center ring calliope. The clown climbing the lady is indeed Felix Adler. The lady looking over is Kay(Clarke)Burslem.
Incidently the costume she is wearing and the jacket that Felix is wearing are part of the Ringling Museum costume collection.
I don't believe that the lady in purple is Antoinette Concello.

Eric,
Thank you so much for sending these great shots. What program are you using to capture the stills from the dvd? I have tried with no success to do this.
By the way, my last post should say climbing the ladder (not the lady) LOL.
