Marsha said...: There was a year in the 30s that my family wintered in Virginia and no one had money including Arthur Godfrey and he used to come over to eat with my family in the cookhouse. Many, many years later my Dad had was doing a radio program in NYC and Godfrey was on it and Daddy said he had become one of the most rude and vulgar people he had met in a long time. I guess his memory failed him or he really didn't want to remember those lean days when he got fed by the circus people.; 04 June, 2011 18:35
