I remember that year because when
Irvin walked into the rehearsal he
bellowed that those yellow walls
above the aisles looked awful
He asked "isn't there anything we
can cover them with" so with a
few phonecalls (long before Email)
I located cases of colored pennant
strings (like from car lots) that
we "decorated" the walls with &
did the same for several years
Dick Van Dyke was very friendly
& gracious to all involved
Dick Van Dyke, going great at 85, wowed the TONIGHT SHOW recently with energetic dance steps from MARY POPPINS.
Not long ago, he went to a school out here to help them with a major fund raiser for a special education program. He made the day a success and left happy memories, even with the younger kids who didn't know who he was.
My claim to fame is, I took a leak next to him in the donker in the building in St Pete..
Dick is a sweet guy and he has a new autobiography out, worth a look.
