John Ellis was a veteran Greek pro wrestler who toured with several circuses throughout the 1910s and 1920s. In 1924 and 1925 he barnstormed with the Golden Brothers' Circus. $50 was offered to any local challenger who could last with him for ten minutes, and $100 to anyone he could defeat him.
He was a light-heavyweight who weighed in at about 176 pounds.

John Elliott was a veteran pro wrestler. He was billed as "the King of Greek Wrestlers" and "the Greek Demon". He toured with several circuses throughout the 1910s and 1920s. In 1924 and 1925 while barnstorming with the Golden Brothers' Circus he offered $50 to anyone he could last with him for ten minutes and $100 to any one who could defeat him. These take-on-all-comers wrestlers and boxers were once a big part of old-time circuses and carnivals.
