The tableau cage being pushed by this elephant wasbuilt for Barnum & Bailey about 1915 and later served on RBBB until retirement. It was never with other shows, definitely not with Christy. Only one of them escaped, served for a few years on HW and is not at Baraboo.
This looks like one of the
"picture frame" cages that came to RBBB from Barnum & Bailey, rather than a Christy cage. Maybe # 76?
Is she wearing a "push-pad" ?
I see that Daisy was on Gollmar - Patterson and then James Patterson. I grew up in Paola KS at the former winter quarters and have a few programs, tickets, letterheads and such, but would like to hear about the elephants and people associated with Patterson. As a side note, because of the history of Walnut Inn it influenced me to pursue a life in intertainment as a magician and fire-eater. I collected many items of the outdoor entertainment world and have donated a large part of them to the "C.W. Parker Carousel Museum" in Leavenworth KS. Enjoy your Blog and follow it daily.
