Following a successful run teamed with Art Concello for 1944's Clyde Beatty-Russell Bros., Beatty and Concello parted ways. Beatty bought Wallace Bros. from Ray Rogers, and what we see here is that 1945 truck show re-titled as Clyde Beatty Circus. It was reported at the time to be the largest truck show ever fielded, but the grief of a show on rubber tires caused Beatty to foreswear the nation's highways. During this season, a daring armed robbery cleaned out the cash box to the tune of $45 Grand, according to the show. The FBI investigated, and put the figure at closer to $15,000. For 1946, Beatty and Concello reunited aboard Art's Beckman & Gerrity train, and the Clyde Beatty Circus remained a rail show for 10 seasons. Reverting to trucks for 1957 came as a crushing disappointment to all Beatty show veterans.
