1964 Polack Bros. #3

Parley Baer did all the text in this program.
When we made a deal to come on the show the following year
he was the first person to call. I had never met Parley and all I
knew was that he had married Ernestine Clarke when she was a
star on the Ringling Show.
As chance would have it, Barbara and I went to a movie that evening
and his name poped up in the credits, I said, "That's the guy I
talked to today!" and of course I matched up his voice right away.
It was a haunted house movie.
Like Bev Kelly, Norman Carroll and Jack Ryan, he had the ability
to induce the most reticent people to babble forth informaion that
the pen could scarcely follow.

Buckles,

I thank you for putting me in the same sentence as those all-time great circus press agents.

They're all idols of mine.

One of the things that I love about this site is fining out new stuff about old friends! I never knew this aspect of Parley's career, but it doesn't surprise me. He was always one who could turn a good phrase! ~frank

Your humility is refreshing! But, as much as I know about those estemed peerless practitioners of publicity and punctuation, to MY knowledge, no one else has ever come up with a tag as lasting as, 'MAY ALL YOUR DAYS BE CIRCUS DAYS!' ~frank

Frank,

But, really, Supply Chain Toolworks makes an intriguing screen name.

Parley's first circus job was on publicity for the Barnes show, in 1936, where he did so well by Mabel Stark, that they remained friends until her passing.
