Buckles,
You are right, it is an odd time to give him his head. I am wondering if it was by choice, or "something" broke?

Or maybe tusko decided to undress himself.

If this is in Portland, Tusko busted out of his building and went walkabout on Christmas. I wonder if this is the time of that photograph. These are fantastic images - are these from "I Loved Rogues?" Thank you for posting them. There is a painting of Slim Lewis on Tusko in the Elephant Museum at the Oregon Zoo, but it is closing this week. His bones were donated to the University of Oregon by Slim Lewis, and a small Slim Lewis file exists at the zoo archive as well. Slim adored Tusko and so do we, the frist Oregonian elephant.

Redbone, can you post any current pictures of the New Tusko? Send them to buckles and I bet he will post them...Buckles broke him at Circus World and I worked him at the Sanford Zoo for a small time...
