"The amusement world has long recognized the Cole Bros. Circus as one of the outstanding amusement institutions of the age.
Organized more than two score of years ago, this vast enterprise has annually increased in size, in merit and in the good will of the public.
For more than a decade it has been looked upon as the favorite circus.

When death forever stilled the magic genius of the Cole Bros., the prodigious monument they had erected-the world's greatest traveling amusement institutions-passed into the ownership and management of Jess Adkins and Zack Terrell.
For two generations they have directed the destinies of America's greatest circuses. It was a fitting tribute to their astuteness and business acumen that to them should fall the task of perpetuating the high standard of excellency and honesty-the platform of the illustrious Cole Bros.
When you attend this world famed circus you will be assured of courtesy.
If not, ask for Mr. Adkins or Mr. Terrell at the main entrance."

As youths, Tom and Bob Parkinson were asked to serve as shills for the Cole Bros. sideshow at the Bloomington, IL date in 1938. The man proposing this spoke of Mr. Cole this and Mr. Cole that, to which Tom responded "Do you mean Zack Terrell?" The poor man's bowels must have turned to water. If the local teenagers were that smart the showmen weren't going to outwit anyone. Luckily, not that many readers of Billboard were on the lot.
